John D. Morse

A Vancouver native, I have been admitted to the practice of law in Washington and the Western District of Washington since 1981. My areas of specialization include handling matters involving Social Security Disability and I am a Sustaining member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimant's Representatives (NOSSCR) perhaps the premier claimant's representative organization. My practice focus is on Regular Social Security Disability (DIB or Title II) as well as Supplemental Security Income (SSI or Title XVI)

The role of a Social Security disability lawyer is to make filing your disability claim as painless as possible while ensuring that you receive the full amount of benefits to which you are entitled. With years of experience in dealing with the Social Security Administration and processing and filing disability claims, I can expedite your claim and cut through the confusing process. Unlike many attorneys handling these types of claims, I feel it is important that you are not shuttled off to be handled by staff. I meet with my clients on a regular schedule to review and update them on the status of their case.

In addition, I maintain an active family law practice. Having done Domestic Law cases since 1981, I have an extensive background in Dissolution of Marriage case, Paternity, Child Support and Custody Modifications both primary and Third Party Custody modifications, Parental Relocation actions as well as Domestic Partnerships.

As a founding member of the firm, I feel strongly that the service of law is a profession worth following. The law is a tool to solve problems and disputes in society. Being a lawyer is a way to facilitate positive change and give back to our communities, preserving the fabric of discourse and family life and supporting our growth as people. In some areas of law, emotions and desires may be extremely entwined with our notions of legal rights and our goals. When we first meet clients, they are going into a difficult period. It's a very emotional time, and they are forced to make decisions that will impact the rest of their lives. Part of my task is to provide a sense of grounding in the midst of an extremely emotional state. I hope to provide the compassion my clients deserve while competently performing the legal tasks toward achieving their goals.

Everyone deserves to have someone stand with him or her against the power of the government and entrenched corporate interests. It is my intent that our lawyers are not afraid to stand up for you and zealously advocate for your rights.

My practice is diverse. I enjoy helping clients prevent or navigate problems in estate planning, probate, real estate, elder law and business matters. I also handle family law with a particular emphasis on couples that own small businesses, real estate holdings and high asset dissolutions.

Things I do:

Estate Planning
Contract Drafting and Disputes
Probate and Elder Law
Real Estate Contracts and Disputes
TEDRA Litigation
Business Formation, Governance and Disputes
Family Law

Why I do them:

Every problem has a solution. My job is to understand my clients' circumstances and to prevent problems or orchestrate solutions in a cost effective manner. I address client matters from a broad base of legal and business experience, with a healthy dose of common sense. If your case must go to trial to get an equitable resolution under the law, I am ready, willing and able to do so.

Prior to becoming an attorney I had a 21 year career in construction, real estate, consulting and management. I have had to find and hire attorneys with my own money. It is never far from my mind what a hassle it can be to find a competent attorney who "gets it" and works efficiently to solve problems. That experience provides me with a unique insight into how to deliver legal services in a way that is both effective and understandable to my clients.

Where I Practice:

My clients' matters have taken me to Clark, Cowlitz, Skamania, Pierce, Thurston, Snohomish, Yakima, Lewis, Lincoln, Pacific, Klickitat, Kitsap, Spokane and Chelan Counties in Washington State.
